Pakistan-Azerbaijan 🇵🇰 🇦🇿 Joint Issue: Mosques - Heyder Mosque, Bakü & Wezir Khan Mosque, Lahore

Pakistan & Azerbaijan jointly issued a Souvenir Sheet on Mosques, the Wazir Khan Mosque in Lahore & the Heydar Mosque in Bakü. The issue coincided with 15th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between the two nations.

The Wazir Khan Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan is one of the historic mosques built during the Mughal Era in the old city of Lahore by Emperor Shah Jehan & its amazing and intricate designs showcase the culture & architecture of the time. The Mosque is on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites' tentative list.

The Heydar Mosque in Bakü, Azerbaijan is one of the largest mosques in the Caucasus. It was opened in 2014 and is a place of worship to both Sunni & Shia sects in Azerbaijan. It was constructed on the order of Ilham Aliyev & is a stunning work of architecture.

The Joint Issue includes a Souvenir Sheet (1.2 Manat) from Azerbaijan & a Souvenir Sheet (50 Rupees) and a 2 Stamps Set (8 Rupees Each) from Pakistan. FDCs were issued by the respective postal administrations and mixed FDCs exist.
